Children's Service League
Love in Action has been the motto of Children's Service League (CSL) since it's inception and continues today as demonstrated by the the volunteerism of this dedicated group of women.

CSL is the organization that began Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center in 1956.  This organization actually began helping children in the Permian Basin in 1935 by making layettes for needy families.  In the early days of Midland the League played many roles.  They held a vaccination clinic for children, managed a clothing locker, provided Easter Seals clinics and helped children with expenses who need to go to needed to go Dallas or other medical facilities for surgery and treatments.  In the mid 1950’s their focus began to narrow and after identifying 25 children with cerebral palsy in the community began the Midland Cerebral Palsy Center.

The first clinic was located on Ohio and moved to it’s current location in the earl 1970’s.  It wasn’t long after the clinic opened that children with other orthopedic and neurological limitations came for treatment.  In 2001 the name was changed to the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center to better reflect the population it serves.

This dedicated group of volunteers still supports the Center today.  They meet the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 am at MCRC.  They volunteer in many areas and they are responsible for the Take the Money and Run fundraising event.  They also volunteer in the following areas:

Hippotherapy Program
Aquatics Program
